Eva Marie Owen

Eva Marie Owen, 58, of Gainesville, TX, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Born on October 10, 1966 in Muenster, TX, Eva was the daughter of Daniel J. Owen and Raye Dale (Amoroso) Owen. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Perry Owen, Uncle Tony Amoroso, and her Godfather Uncle Willie Romo. Eva grew up in Garland, TX until relocating to Gainesville, TX in 2011, where she lived independently until residing with her aunt Kathy Amoroso-Culp in her final years. It was there that she enjoyed caring for her Aunt Kathy’s granddaughter Lydia. Eva helped raise all her nephews and niece and was the happiest when surrounded by babies and young children. She made friends wherever she went and could light up any room with her contagious smile and laughter. Eva was a devout wrestling fan. Memories include taking her to the Sportatorium on Friday nights in which she would say she was going to the bathroom, but really sneak off to the wrestlers’ dressing rooms to get autographs. She had a large collection of wrestling memorabilia and loved watching matches with her family and friends. Eva attended Camp Summit for many years, and this was a very special place for her. She made lifelong friends with other campers and camp counselors and became pen-pals with many. Eva attended via scholarships, which was a huge blessing for her family. In lieu of flowers, donations to Camp Summit in Eva’s honor would be greatly appreciated. Eva is survived by siblings Danita Owen Partain (David), Russel Paul Owen (Carrie), Kevin Douglas Owen, and Robin Denise Owen; Aunt Kathy Amoroso-Culp, Aunt Joanie Amoroso, Godmother Aunt Henrietta Owen Romo, and Aunt Nina Bardsley; nephews Brandon Partain (Lindsey), Brad Partain (Megan), Jacob Aaron Owen, Joshua Steven Owen, Blake Anthony Owen, Nicholas Owen, and niece Savannah Raye Owen. Eva had so many cousins that loved her. The family is thankful for the excellent care of Eva and the friendships she made at the Dialysis Cottage, Angel Care Home Health (nurse Erin Sieger), and River Valley Nursing and Rehab. Celebration of Life for Eva will be at the Cooke County Cowboy Church in Gainesville Tx. at 1 pm Saturday January 18, 2025.
