Donna Faye Hodges

Donna Faye Hodges, a native of Grapevine, Texas, was born on July 4, 1955. She peacefully passed away at her home on September 9, 2023. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, T.A. and Jean Harwell. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Johnny Hodges. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Gypsy Mishoe, and her husband, Jeff, as well as her son, Blake Hodges, and his wife, Brandy. Donna's adoration extended to her six beautiful grandchildren: Aaron and Ava Lovvorn, Eli and Henry Mishoe, and Baer and Bo Hodges. Donna's life was enriched by her family, including her sisters Judy Patrick, Beverly Harwell, and Cheryl Ince, her brother-in-law Joey Hodges and his wife Bonita, and sister-in-law Charlotte Moore. She also had numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who held special places in her heart. Donna was a small business owner, and later in life, she worked for Royal Body Care until her retirement. She graduated from Southlake Carroll High School in 1973, leaving behind a legacy as a dedicated athlete. She excelled in tennis and earned recognition as an All-State Basketball player during her time there. Her competitive spirit remained alive long after graduation, as she continued to play for many years, forging lasting friendships along the way. Even after her playing days were over, she continued to support and cheer on her children and grandchildren from the stands. Donna found joy in life's simple pleasures, relishing her morning coffee and savoring evenings with a glass of wine or a margarita. She appreciated the beauty of sunrises, sunsets, and the brilliance of a full moon, especially a Halloween full moon. Halloween was her favorite holiday, and she earned the title of "Queen of Party Planning" not only for Halloween but also for her legendary themed Christmas celebrations for her family. Above all else, Donna cherished her family and friends. On October 15th, the family will host a gathering to reminisce and celebrate the joy Donna brought into the world. In accordance with Donna's wishes, the family invites you to join them for her "Lyrics of My Life Party" at the Lancaster Theater, located at 300 S Main St, Grapevine, TX, at 2 pm. Donna had a special fondness for flowers, particularly those blooming in the ground rather than those in a vase.
